Family accommodation in Champagny-en-Vanoise
For a family stay, choose accommodation around the youngest child’s daily routine. A manageable route to lessons, suitable sleeping space and easy meals are more useful than maximum occupancy alone.

Start with the lesson journey
ESF Champagny distinguishes lesson meeting and collection points: some courses start at the gondola base and finish at the top; others meet at the top. Its Piou Piou arrangements also depend on the group and snow conditions. Check your actual booking on the school’s meeting-point page before choosing an address.
A property near the base can reduce the morning walk, but it does not remove a parent’s journey to collect a child at the top. Ask the school about accompaniment and pedestrian access where needed.
Make a room-by-room family checklist
| Need | Details to request |
|---|---|
| Sleep | Separate bedroom, bed sizes and safe cot space |
| Young children | Cot and high chair availability, stairs and balcony access |
| Equipment | Space for wet clothes, skis and a pushchair |
| Meals | Kitchen equipment or restaurant times that suit the children |
| Arrival | Child seats for transfers and access from drop-off to the door |
An apartment lets you keep familiar mealtimes; a hotel can reduce cooking and cleaning. For a residence with shared leisure facilities, check access rules, operating dates and supervision requirements rather than assuming childcare is included.
Test the whole day
Imagine breakfast, dressing for snow, walking to the gondola, collection, shopping and bedtime. Check the return route as well as the outward walk. If you expect to use a local shuttle, match the closest stop and the relevant season’s timetable to that routine.
Reserve a simple first-night meal and bring essential supplies for a late arrival. Our groceries guide helps with shopping, while the gondola guide and apartment checklist help compare addresses.

Common questions
Do all children’s ski lessons start in the village?
No. ESF publishes different meeting and collection points, including at the top of the gondola. Check the instructions for the specific course and date.
Is a family-labelled property enough to choose a stay?
Use the label as a starting point. Confirm your actual room layout, equipment, stairs, meal arrangements and route to the activities you have booked.
