Camping in Champagny-en-Vanoise

For camping near Champagny-le-Haut, use an authorised campsite such as Huttopia Vanoise’s Champagny sector. Do not treat a valley parking space or a hiking trailhead as permission to camp overnight.

Book the correct Huttopia sector

Huttopia Vanoise – Champagny welcomes camping equipment including tents, caravans, campervans and motorhomes, and advertises ready-to-camp accommodation. The operator also has a Bozel sector. Check the exact sector before paying: the swimming pool and some activities and food services shown for the wider Vanoise offer are at Bozel.

Your choice What to confirm
Tent pitch Size, ground, electricity if required and sanitary facilities
Campervan or motorhome Vehicle dimensions, pitch access and service facilities
Ready-to-camp rental Beds, cooking equipment, linen and heating provision
A stay relying on Bozel facilities Opening dates and transport between sectors

Check the operator’s availability calendar for the actual opening period. A campsite in a ski destination is not automatically a winter campsite.

Camping and bivouac have different rules

The official Champagny-le-Haut valley page states that camping and caravanning are prohibited in the classified site outside the Huttopia campsite. Booking a campsite therefore solves a different problem from finding somewhere to leave a car.

For a multi-day mountain walk, consult the Vanoise National Park’s rules and its specific bivouac information. An authorised campsite does not grant permission to pitch a tent elsewhere in the park. Match your planned overnight location to the applicable rules before departure.

Prepare the practical arrival

Confirm check-in, access for your vehicle and a contact if you arrive late. Pack for changing mountain weather, protect food and belongings from rain, and agree how you will obtain meals if on-site catering is unavailable.

Use the upper-valley guide for other accommodation formats and driving advice for your journey.
