Moûtiers to Champagny-en-Vanoise: bus and taxi

From Moûtiers–Salins–Brides-les-Bains, continue to Champagny on the S66 route when it operates for your dates, or reserve a taxi. The bus station is beside the railway station.

Find the right bus, not the wrong La Plagne route

Altibus’s timetable index names S66 as Moûtiers–Champagny-en-Vanoise–Pralognan-la-Vanoise. Select Champagny and read the valid dates, day-of-week notes and reservation conditions before buying. A service continuing to Pralognan is not necessarily a direct ride to every Champagny address.

The official resort arrival page places the bus station next to the rail station. Allow time to leave the train, gather skis and bags and find the correct boarding point. Do not plan a connection solely from the difference between printed arrival and departure times.

Bus or booked taxi?

Choice Useful when Clarify before travel
S66 bus A dated service fits your train Stop, ticket, luggage and reservation rules
Taxi You need a specific address or a different time Collection point, total quote and waiting policy
Taxi to Champagny-le-Haut Your stay is beyond the village Exact hamlet and final road access

Give a taxi company the train number, party size, luggage and ski-bag count. Request child seats or accessibility arrangements in advance. Obtain a contact for delays and establish how waiting or missed arrivals are handled.

Finish the arrival and plan the return

Ask your host how to reach the door from the bus stop and how to collect keys. The free seasonal local shuttle is a separate service from the paid valley journey; do not assume the rail bus continues to the upper valley.

For departure, work backwards from the train and allow a practical road margin. Reserve a taxi where no dated bus fits, rather than relying on finding one at the last moment. See local travel and car-free planning for the rest of the stay.
